Farm Day

Friday, July 21

There is one book in the Little House series that is not about life on the prairies. Farmer Boy, written by Wilder in 1933, is the story of her husband Almanzo Wilder and his life growing up on a farm in northern New York. Farmer Boy describes the life of nine-year-old Almanzo and his family through the changing seasons. Through this story, the reader is able to observe the intricacies of life on a farm near Malone, New York in the year 1866.

Take part in chores like Almanzo from 10 am to 2 pm.

Curiosity Fair and Civil "Color" War

Thursday, July 20

1 pm to 7 pm

Kids and adults are invited to play, create and investigate the mysteries of the world around them at our Curiosity Fair.  Discover what living things are in your own backyard, and find out how milk goes from udder to glass. Through a series of activities, presentations and hands-on demonstrations, the whole family will be encouraged to ask questions, share knowledge and ignite the urge to discover.

Our family night activity will feature a color war reenactment of a Civil War battle.  Participants will learn about the Manitowoc Guards, its members, and how they fought in the war effort.
